Holiday of a lifetime. Amazing We just returned from a holiday of our lifetime. AFRICAN SAFARI IN TANZANIA. I can’t thank enough ANGEL SIMONS OF EARTHLIFE EXPEDITIONS, who organised such a wonderful holiday for us. While setting up our itinerary we called and spoke to her several times and always she has been so helpful and dealt with all our queries professionally. she is extremely accommodating and will always go the extra mile to help and give the appropriate advise. We lover her. On top of all this she gave us a very good offer without compromising their high standards. Earthlife expeditions is high recommended and one of the best if not the best. The hotels, lodges and the tents which was given to us is just excellent. In Arusha we stayed in Kibo palace, in Tarangire stayed in escarpment lodge, singing grass luxury tents in Central Serengeti and Bao bao tent in North Serengeti. They are all amazing. Dominic from Earthlife our captain, driver, friend, philosopher and guide is just amazing. He is so knowledgable and possibly knows everything about animals and animal behaviour. We learnt a lot from him. He drove us tirelessly miles and miles to show us the animals and because of him we were able to see the big 5s. Angel also included hot air balloon in the package via a company called Miracle and it was one of the best and we had an amazing experience. All the people we met during our trip was so helpful and will definitely recommend to book safari through Earthlife. We will go back again.

Book with Earthlife Expeditions. You won't regret it. I cannot say enough about Earthlife Expeditions. Every aspect of our once-in-a-lifetime safari worked perfectly. Catherine and Inno planned an itinerary that was spot-on for our every request. Communication was seamless, everything handled quickly and correctly. The lodging and food were great. (We stayed at Mara Bush Camp in Maasai Mara; Kontiki Camp in Northern Serengeti, Lahia Tented Camp in Central/Western Serengeti, Melia at Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire Sopa Lodge in Tarangire). I'll write individual reviews for the camps/lodges. The logistics were perfect. And our guide!!!! Paul is absolutely AMAZING. He knows so much about the animals, was a great driver and spotter, and even fun to spend time with. He's now a friend for life. The price was right on this safari (far more reasonable that working with a US provider, Earthlife is Tanzania owned). Earthlife was recommended to me by a friend who facilitates photography workshops and I'll be forever grateful for her recommendation. You can't go wrong with Earthlife Expeditions.

Incredible lifetime experience courtesy of Daniel Balela We had just finished an amazing 9 day safari starting at Arusha National Park then Trangire National Park, Serengeti (Central & Western) and finally Ngorongoro Crater. Our driver/guide, Daniel Balela has done an incredible job providing us with a lifetime experience to see all the Big 5 and Ugly 5. Not only that he provided us with the experience but also really provided us (particularly our daughters) with all the detail attention to make sure that everyone has the best experience.

Trip of a lifetime Short version: EarthLife - and in particular their guide Herman - is amazing. Our group of six had a phenomenal once-in-a-lifetime trip with Herman as our guide, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. We saw not only the big five, but also hippos, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebra, giraffes, mongeese, hyenas, a myriad of different antelope types, crocodiles, jackals, baboons, monkeys, warthogs, foxes, dozens of exquisite birds, and more. I’ve done a good amount of trekking / touring (Galapagos, safaris elsewhere in Africa, Himalayas), and Herman’s probably the best guide I’ve ever had. Book with EarthLife, seriously. Long version: if you’re like me, you want lots of details on safari operators, since it’s not a small investment. Key points: Guides: your guide is really what determines your experience on Safari - you’re in the car with them for potentially upwards of 8 hours a day, they’re driving / navigating everywhere, they find and spot animals, share their knowledge of animals, and are the liaisons with lodges. A good tour guide is the difference between just getting shuffled around to see animals alongside every other truck, and having a truly magical experience of wildlife and learning about the natural world. The guides are what differentiate EarthLife from competitors. Our guide Herman was absolutely incredible. He has 18+ years of experience guiding across Tanzania, did a related degree (ask him about his research on elephants - fascinating!), and was a wealth of knowledge about the animals, birds, plants, insects, and ecosystem of Tanzania. He was able to identify everything we saw by sight (including dozens of birds!), and his knowledge of the habitat and animal behavior (and his astonishingly good eyesight) meant that we often were the first vehicle to find highly sought after animals in various states - we even saw lions mating! We also had a photographer in our group, and Herman has an artists eye - he always positioned the vehicle for the best unobstructed shot, was thoughtful about where the light was good, and knew how to set our photographer up for success. Herman was also just a delightful human - genuinely kind and thoughtful and we left Tanzania with a new friend in Herman. We had friends who toured with EarthLife with a different guide and similarly raved about their guide, which is a good sign. Price: we had sought quotes from 5-6 different operators using the same parameters. EarthLife wasn’t the cheapest quote but they also weren’t the most expensive. Having gone with them, I feel confident in saying that they were the best value of all the quotes we got. They thought about how to optimize our itinerary to minimize time lost to travel, they were able to make modifications to fit our budget, and made sure we were seeing the things that really mattered. At the end of our trip all of us felt that the price was absolutely worth every dollar spent. Lodging and food: there’s a finite number of lodges and so a lot of the operators use the same ones, so it’s really about finding the right ones for your preference. We requested mid range accommodation with an emphasis on tented camps in the parks. EarthLife made recommendations accordingly and then customized based on feedback we gave, or as availability changed. Every place we stayed was great and was true to what we had requested. Food was excellent across the board (shout out to Chef Paul at Acacia Migration who made the best meals we had in all Tanzania) and by the end of seven days we were grateful that EarthLife did hot lunches instead of just boxed sandwiches for a week straight. Having warm chicken and pasta with fresh fruit and coffee for lunch in the bush just feels luxurious. Customer service: We worked with Inno to plan our safari, and he was helpful and accommodating. We had a lot of questions and specific parameters or complications (people arriving on different days which necessitated multiple airport transfers, etc), and they were patient and thorough in answering all our questions and adjusting our itinerary to make sure we really had a trip that worked for us. Payment processes and policies were clearly communicated and with a variety of options depending on your comfort and preference. Safety: I took this trip at five months pregnant and had a lot of questions and concerns accordingly - the places you’re going are remote and on often very bumpy roads! EarthLife was incredible and I felt so at ease with them. Herman was an incredible driver and managed to make the often bumpy roads be as smooth as possible, and he was very attuned to needs - checking in on how I was doing, making sure I had a certain seat in the truck to minimize jostling, and navigating based on not only wildlife but also weather and road conditions. It’s also very important that vehicles are maintained well - you’ll see trucks that are being fixed roadside which would mess up your trip! Herman maintained the vehicle meticulously - checking it every night - and we were always confident we would not be in that situation. EarthLife also carries AMREF Flying Doctors Insurance so that if we had needed medical attention, there would have been evacuation options available. Other: they’re ethical and honest! We saw a number of other tour operators who we were unimpressed with. They harassed the animals, were inconsiderate of other vehicles / groups, and generally seemed to treat Safari as a “check the box exercise” where you just see all the big five as quick as possible and then leave. That’s not Herman. He was super conscientious about engaging with the wildlife and others, patient and thorough to ensure we got the most of our trip, and all around great. They were also very up front about expectations for everything (including things like tips, or where you should negotiate at markets). For example, we inquired about a tour of a Masai village and they explained the cost as well as what people like and what people don’t like about the tours, so we could make an informed decision. We ended up doing the tour and we’re glad we did, but also were grateful that Herman had given us very clear expectations of what to expect! EarthLife is also a Tanzanian owned and operated company (the founder was a former guide himself), so you are supporting fully local interests instead of foreign investors. Overall: I cannot recommend them more highly and encourage anyone looking to do a safari in Tanzania to book with EarthLife. Thank you again to EarthLife - and especially Herman - for a truly magical experience that we will never forget.

Unforgettable experience! Since preparing this trip we had Miguel Almeida Bruno as our consultant and I must say that he advised us in the best possible way so that our safari ran flawlessly. From airport receptions, domestic flights, lodges and camp tents, everything met our expectations and everything went without any surprises or surprises. All the staff were super helpful and concerned about our well-being, starting with Jonh, going through Inno and highlighting our guide Makuru who was "family" during these days who accompanied us. I can only say that the 6 days of safari were memorable and the memories we made lasted a lifetime. Thank you to Earthlife Expeditions and of course to those of you who dealt directly with us, made this experience unique! Cheers!

Excellent and unforgettable Miguel organized the trip beautifully, choosing the lodges well and planning the itinerary for this 7-day adventure. Locally, our guide couldn't have been better. Balela explained everything to us about the fauna, flora and local culture. Always very attentive to provide us with the best experience and didn't rest until we had seen the big 5! Congratulations and thanks for the good times.

Fantastic unbelievable experience! I had the incredible opportunity to embark on an adventure organized by this Company, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the beginning, the organization of the trip was impeccable, with every detail meticulously planned to ensure a smooth and worry-free experience. The guide, Junior, was a real treasure. His in-depth knowledge of local wildlife and culture enriched our journey, making each day a new discovery. He was not just a guide but a storyteller who brought to life the wonders we were witnessing. The game drive car was a joy in itself - modern, new and extremely comfortable, ensuring that every journey was full of pleasure The quality and comfort of the vehicle was exceptional, allowing us to enjoy the sights and sounds of the savannah in style. The national parks selected were fantastic Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti Park offered stunning landscapes and wildlife encounters that will be etched in the memory forever. As for accommodations, each stay was a unique experience. Maramboi Tented Lodge, Lake Masek Tented Lodge, Kubu Kubu tented Lodge and Lions Paws Lodge provided comfort, luxury and a total immersion in nature, all whilst maintaining a high standard of hospitality and service. THE TRIP!!!! I went on a 7-day Safari with my niece and it was an absolutely incredible experience! The entire organization, since I started thinking about doing this trip, was excellent. Thank you very much to Earth Life Expedition, in particular to Miguel Almeida Bruno, always tireless in clarifying all possible doubts. I also cannot fail to thank our guide Herman, for all his friendliness, good disposition and extensive knowledge about all the animals. Always attentive to providing us with the best spots to view as many animals as possible. And yes!!! We got to see all the Big Five and more. The choice of Lodges and camps was fabulous, everything was super organized and the staff at all of them were very friendly and attentive, always providing Hot Meals for Safari lunches. The choice of company we took the balloon ride with was absolutely incredible, Serengeti Ballon Safari. Also the night safari was unforgettable! I hope to do more trips like this again and it will certainly be with Earth Life Expedition!! Thank you very much, Francisca and Margarida Costa e Almeida

We had an amazing experience. Here are our highlights:

-Deo was very responsive on whatsapp before our trip and helped create a perfect itinerary with his local knowledge
-we had to send a wire transfer beforehand and had no issues with this
-most impt part of trip is your guide and our guide Gilbert was the best. Other travellers on other safaris even acknowledged their guides were telling them gilbert is the best. Since earthlife is smaller the quality of their guides is better than the bigger companies
-accommodations at the tanzania bush camps were great

Overall no complaints, thank you Deo and Gilbert!

In June, 2019, my wife, my son, and his 13 year old son began planning a trip to Tanzania including a safari that we arranged through Earthlife Expeditions. We began planning months in advance and during the planning process there were many changes we requested in our itinerary. Caudence was patient and accommodating through all these changes and terrific to work with. Our experienced guide/drive, Moison, was knowledgeable and articulate during our safari and was especially great with the 13 year old boy. The lodges we stayed in were wonderful…beautiful. At the end of our trip to Tanzania, we ran into problems with our airline and, again, Caudence and the entire staff stepped up and saw us through the problem. I would heartily recommend this organization.

Don’t hesitate to schedule your safari trip with Earthlife Expeditions. From the very first contact, Caudence was very patient and worked with us to address our needs and select right accommodations. The whole trip went very smooth and our guide, Abu, made our journey very special. A safari guide can make or break your trip. Abu knows a lot about all animals, their behavior and habits, and he made sure we saw as many animals as it was possible. He would spot a lion on the tree that other guides could have missed… He was also an excellent driver and the car was sparkling clean every morning. This is an excellent, honest, and ethical company that I highly recommend for your Tanzania safari trip.

I went with a group of 4 to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday. We had a wonderful experience with Earthlife Expeditions!!

To book the trip, I reached out to 5+ agencies in the area, and Caudence from Earthlife was the most responsive and helpful. She was flexible in our travel arrangements and was able allow us to see everything in a short period of time. She was also very helpful in providing different ways to flex on price and have options to upgrade/save some money. In general, felt the booking process was very straightforward, honest, and informative.

For the actual safari, our guide was Jeff, and he was AWESOME! Very knowledgeable about the history, geography, and animals in the region. Also, just amazing at spotting animals and getting us positioned to take great photos – he has the craziest eagle eyes and can see a tiny spec of an animal that is half a mile away. He is able to crack jokes to keep everyone laughing and then also know when we’re all tired and give us some time to nap and quietly appreciate the nature. He went out of a way to give us a WOW experience, even arranging a last minute birthday cake in the bush for my mother, something that she will never forget.

I would 100% recommend Earthlife and Jeff! We went in August for the Great Migration, but will have to go back for the calving season in February, which is supposed to have more “action”, if you were debating the two!

We were a couple and we booked our trip with Earthlife Expeditions from July 25 to August 6, 2019. From the first contact, Angel was very friendly and worked with us to find the itinerary that would meet our expectations. We also worked together to select the best accommodations. Deo J. Haule, the Managing Director, was always present and helpful.
We met Joseph, our guide/driver in Arusha. He went with us to Tarangire National Park, Central and North Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Joseph was exceptional! His vision is amazing and he is able to identify animals from kilometers away. He has a long experience in safaris and his knowledge of the African flora and fauna is great. Sometimes, he used his traditional Masaai dress.
We were able to see over than 60 lions, over than 20 cheetahs, 5 leopards, many, many others animals like elephants, gnus, zebras, giraffes, impalas, hyenas, and so one… plus many different birds.
The highlight was the great migration we saw twice!! Unbelievable!
We had a perfect and magical experience thanks to Earthlife Expeditions.

Our family of 13 will always remember our safari with Earthlife Expeditions. Our guides Paul and Salim were both knowledgeable, thoughtful and organized. Each guide also drove, so we fit in 2 well equipped land rovers. Tarangire amazed us with diverse animals; Manyara with elephants and predators; and the migration across the Mara, after driving through thousands of gathering wildebeests and zebras. Accommodation was wonderful! Sopa lodges, and also the mobile camps. This was the trip of a lifetime.

By Kpanfil

Earthlife was everything we could have asked for and more, and the entire experience was magical.

Herman, our guide, was knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and the animals. He was flexible and revised our plans at our request. He was interesting to talk with, easy going, respectful and delivered beyond our expectation.

We made last May 2019 a private 2 people photography tour with amazing Herman from Earthlife.
We spoke with Herman after a recommendation from my friend Adi.
I told Herman that I have 5 days only for this trip.
Herman knew exactly what plan to offer me after I explained him my photography needs.

We booked everything very fast and spontaneous with no problems.

When we arrived to the airport Herman was waiting there for us and welcome us with super big smile.
He helped loading the car with all our photography gear and luggage.
The 4×4 car was big and comfortable, cold water supply for all trip with fridge inside the car.
We stoped at the supermarket to buy some things for the way, than started our trip.
All rides was pretty long but was very fun and interesting with Herman explanations about everything.

We went to Serengeti park, we hat great time there and got amazing photos thanks to Herman patients.
In car there are few bags to put on open roof for the lens safety and stabilisation.
Few days after we been in Ngorongoro for last day and back to airport.
We been in 3 lodges that the were perfect with perfect breakfast and dinners.
I highly recommend Earthlife and Herman as your guide!
Thank you!

Our 10 day Tanzanian safari hit all the marks with amazingly beautiful flora and fauna. We saw everything we had hoped to see and more. Our guide, Herman, was a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to be around. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better safari outfitter.
